How To Play an Easy Disco Rhythm on the Piano

Remember the days of disco?  Bell bottoms and big collars may never come back but you can still have some fun playing this classic easy disco rhythm on the piano.  It’s displayed with a combination of Key Shots and Note Shots from Color Score.  Here’s how to play it:

Here’s the easy disco rhythm on the piano video

[ezcol_2third]This easy disco rhythm on the piano really is an easy rhythm to play.  The left hand is actually a pulse of straight eighth notes while the right hand plays a simple four chord sequence.  It really helps to have an understanding of your Major chords

Even though the chords in this easy disco rhythm tutorial are extended chords, the Keyshots make it easier to play because there’s no translation of dots.  What you see is what you play.  The Noteshots may not seem to be as straight forward at first but are easy to understand and very useful in playing rhythms.

Watch the easy disco rhythm video.  You’ll see that there’s actually two rhythms going on at the same time: The rhythm in your right hand the one in your left.  The key to learning to play this easy disco rhythm as well as any rhythm is to learn them separately.

Even though I demonstrated this easy disco rhythm on the piano with a rhythmic right hand you very well just as easily play the right hand with half notes or even whole notes to make it easier to play.
